To celebrate the coronation of King Charles III, 22 milliners from The British Hat Guild have created one-of-a-kind millinery masterpieces in the colours of His Majesty's racing silks. These hats will be auctioned to raise vital funds for Brain Tumour Research.
My design, "Desert Crown", is inspired by His Majesty's coronation, with its crown-like silhouette and gilded materials.
This piece is created from fine sinamay straw, woven with golden lurex threads. Each petal is hand-sculpted with steam, individually stiffened, and carefully hand-stitched onto the wire frame. In total, this special pieces takes approximately 50 hours to make over the course of several days.

The auction ends Sunday, June 11th and all proceeds go to Brain Tumour Research.
